Enchanting Reddish
Clean, dark fruit with lots of smoke, leather, essential herbs and forest soil. The tannins are fine grained and elegant. The freshness, transparency and juiciness as well as the moderate alcohol content are astonishing for Georgian conditions. Top stuff with a lot of pull!

Behind Alapiani Winery are the two distinctive characters Merab Mirtskhulava and Avto Gigineishvili. The two know each other from the communist military era and can therefore trust each other truly blindly. Merab is the master on the vine and in the Marani, Avto takes care of all financial matters and the awareness of the brand Alapiani.
They have been producing natural wines in two climatically different regions of Georgia for several years now: in the Kakhetian dry-hot East in Vazisubani and in the interior Kartli near Okami. There, grape varieties such as Chinuri and Shavkapito grow about 550 m above sea level, where the soil is predominantly alluvial carbonated. Alapiani produces exclusively Qvevri wines according to old Georgian winemaking methods without any additives, they are fermented spontaneously and not filtered. Their wines combine ancient history, passion and skill and take the tradition of Georgian viticulture to new heights in a noble yet modest way. Georgian through and through, delicious and exciting, yet refined and precise.
At the end of 2019, they opened their own small bar in the heart of the old city of Tbilisi, where you can enjoy their natural wines and those of other exquisite natural winemakers.
